John, that's not pretty much it. The only carriers who haven't figured it out (stupid in your words) either don't have the money to make the change now, are politically hamstrung (Europeans), or have made the wrong choice and are just trying to save face (Japanese--NTT-Dokomo).

All, and I mean all, of the carriers have already made the commitment to go CDMA. They have figured it out. We're now in the end game, John.

Lastly, Qualcomm's earnings have gone up about 10 fold in the last 5 or 6 years. What's this "just around the corner, any day" stuff? Had you simple bought a few shares over this time period you wouldn't be a hopin' and a waitin'.

Best regards,

bt

ps: you'll likely make another 5 to 10 fold on an invest in Qualcomm today held over the next 8 to 10 years.
