I hope you have enough milk and bread to see you through. As an original Michigander, I've never quite figured out what we were trying to pull through, but I've given up the battle and now buy milk and bread.

If I don't, I'll run out, and will never have enough to pull me through.

I now know I have to make the pilgrimage to the grocery store to stock up on batteries, and candles...bottled water is optional. People add the latter because that's what is done in a hurricane.

Some people are going to their basements and lugging up the "Must have generators" left over from the millennium scare, thinking they have finally found something to justify their existence. They have pushed aside the suitcases, and dusted those suckers off so they can finally be put to good use!

Every salt truck in the state is set on the "high emergency ready list"...and the power people and telephone folks have called in emergency workers in case a line goes down in the middle of a conversation about Oprah's latest diet.

Aw, you just gotta love a good storm!
