The problem with state power has always been that they can trump any charge, and you have to try to fight it. This has long been the case. There are so many laws on tghe books now that no one, and certainly no average, non-lawyer, non-citizen in this country, can be certain they are not unknowingly breaking some. They almost surely are. That means you are effectively at the mercy of the gov't if they want to expend the effort to dig through the laws and get the necessary evidence. That is why less government is better government. And it is where modern liberlism some branches od conservatism part company. If you think I support the USA Patriot Act, you got the wrong man. I just really hope the Supreme Court sees things the way they should and guts it. A right-wing dictatorship is no better than a left-wing dictatorship.
