My vote is deflation. Look at the weekly chart in stockcharts.

Ever since the major low, a compression pattern in stochastics into
overbought was built and has now broken. A back test of the break
has now occured at the double top which shows failing momentum. The
top also appears to be an ending diagonal 5th wave. MACD has crossed
down and the histogram has a distinct bearish divergence as does the RSI.

IMO, the major uptrend is over and deflation is the serious concern, not
inflation. The FED knows this and that is why they are doing everything they
can to stimulate inflation. They will fail because in the process they will kill
the dollar and compound the debt problem which is already to big to inflate out of.
