Penntrade is secure and have an unheard of approach to their accounts - customer service. They are good. Their commissions are very reasonable, but the best feature for me is their execution and exchange rate on funds (saves the entire commission sometimes). Compared to the way TD Waterhouse treated my account - Penntrade wins, hands down! Opening the account was easy and fast - I just sent them some cash that was sitting in my TD account - even used a TD check to do it! Not sure how retirement accounts are handled. Good luck.
