lorne,

We cannot call ourselves a democracy when we carry out actions that violate our own stated principles.

To support the colonization of another region and support them financially, politically, and militarily makes us hypocritical.

Did we have to invade the Soviet Union to change their direction? In Vietnam we surely did, with bad results, and many lives lost. Did Vietnam threaten us?

If that dictatorship does not threaten us, we should not be invading anyone. If they have attacked us and are shown to be doing harm to us we have some legitimacy to change their affairs as it effects us. Japan in WW II, is an example, even if we forced their hand by cutting off their oil supplies.

The folks who live on the land take first dibs on the land in question, which is why I speak negatively about the colonization of Palestine with foreigners over the wishes of the indigenous people there at the time. The 94% of the land given away to the Zionists for a Jewish State was not purchased and subsequently occupied by people indigenous to the area.

Big mistake.
