Now suddenly, you are saying there was never any hope of such compliance; that "butthead" Clinton's approach of sparing the rod and spoiling the child has turned Saddam into a 24/7 truant.

I'm referring to the THREAT of force; it is painfully obvious, however, that Saddam NEVER has responded to the threat of force and is unlikely to do so now.

That's not what you have said for weeks now. As you've explained it, Mr. Bush in his masterful way was trying to scare Saddam into complying without having to go to war. Now, you claim that it was never possible that threatening Saddam would work, and that war is inevitable.

All of this is no surprise.......I am getting very used to doublespeak just by listening to the current administration. One week there is no global warming and we will not honor the Kyoto Protocol, the next Bush acknowledges there is global warming and something needs to be done, then the next the administration loosens up environmental laws for the utes, and then in the next we find ourselves back to concern over global warming.

How long do you all think you will keep fooling the people? And S. Harris wonders why the world is becoming increasingly hostile towards us.
