Mitchell-

For the past few weeks I think there has been a significant rotation of ownership of Vivus stock. For the better part of 1997, this has been a momentum play dominated by traders, professional and otherwise.
With the split, liquidity has been improved substantially and trading seems much more orderly(as orderly as it gets for a NASDQ stock with few mm's).

My hope is that the quality of ownership has and will continue to improve for Vivus stock. I like rapid profits as much as the next guy, but I think the focus on squeeze has been overdone. It rarely happens and if it comes, fine--- I'll happily take my profits at 40 or wherever with the rest of the traders and wait for the inevitable reentry point. If it doesn't happen, I think I will survive, perhaps with an even stronger psychological base for my long-term approach to this investment.
