I had never heard any confirmation of this although I did here Anssi reference BREW quickly at the Strategy Update on Tuesday. I had always assumed they took care of this matter when the negotiated infra and WCDMA July 2001.

I dont think I have ever heard Nokia actually confirm that they will use BREW....usually they just comment that they are willing to satisfy their customers expectations and that implementation of BREW isnt a big deal. Just a guess....but I would think that a model with BREW and gpsONE should be available sometime during the first half of next year.

Obviously Nokia must be pretty confident about licensing in China which they called JUST a bureaucratic detail.

It's hard for me to think of anything associated with the Chinese bureaucracy as being JUST a detail ;-). They've probably got some leverage since so much of their production is based in China....but it is hard to tell how anything will progress until all parties have signed on the dotted line.

Will China try and get some concessions out of Nokia for the license?
