I was just getting started in investing then. I thought 17% at a very low risk, was a great deal.

If you are securely employed, and are of the mind to save as you earn, one can do just fine in that environment. But if we head into that environment with too large of a debt to service, oh boy...that could be brutal.

I look at the current real estate environment, post bubble, and I see an awful lot of folks that could be severely upside down....very easily. I am already seeing with friends of mine that bought home a couple of years ago, let alone having just bought recently.
