Terry, I, for one, have always believed that dividends were the ONLY true measure of profitability longer term, not that they can't be faked for years, ala ALD and ACAS. I have some affinity for a dividend discount model. A cash flow discount model depends too much on fake accounting.

When cash flow and earnings are greatly different, one of them is calculated wrongly. And if you have cash flow and earnings, really, then dividends are no problem. Like you, I want to see the emperor naked on this one.
