who cares about that distinction?? behind the scenes -- they will tell them what to buy -- if you don't think there's collusion there, I've got a bridge for you -- but whether or not you do believe it -- the Bernanke speech wasn't about hypotheticals, it was a carefully crafted policy statement. They said in effect -- we are in control -- we will inflate like heck before any serious price deflation can happen -- they expect the reader to believe that exchanging more bills with larger numbers on them equate to increased economic activity.

They are raising inflationary expectations to those players that can act on such expectations in order to re-inforce them. Conclusion is simple -- look for higher prices for the things you need to live and stagnating economic activity.

I pray that there are no rescues for bankrupt entities in the next few months -- if we start going down that road or add much more fiscal stimulus to that already instigated -- it will be ten years before we come out the other side of this recession.
