I had written a reply, but really couldn't think of anything positive to say about our neighbor to the north, so I erased it.

I'll just say that, at this point, I view the United States as needing to look out for itself. While we do have a few friends in the world, ultimately, we can only trust ourselves to look out for our interests.

Perhaps in the future, however, some of the nations that have come to rely on us for our willingness to protect them will need to become responsible for themselves. I'm about to get sick of paying to take care of nations who aren't there when we need them -- and Canada certainly isn't the only one.
