The Strong Family Association is large, and I am a member

Hi KLP,

As you know, I'm a Strong descendent too. Last week I found my Strong great-grandfather in an 1860 Minnesota census. I'd gotten a lead on his sister, and there I was peering at a web image of the hand-written census record when I suddenly realized he was the head of the household! I'd been trying to track him down for months, and it was totally unexpected.

Also, I just found out that BLM has a searchable index of homestead (and cash) land patents (not including the original 13 colonies), plus actual images of the transfer documents, at glorecords.blm.gov . I've used this to find precise legal descriptions for some of my ancestors' farms. Then I've used the Microsoft Terraserver to find them on the map and display aerial photographs: terraserver.homeadvisor.msn.com
