Grace, That sudden turnaround on Friday was , very very suspicious. If anything the knee jerk reaction to the resignations should have, for at least a few minutes, been negative especially because we were already in a very negative swoon and on the edge of a break. The very fact that instantaneous powerfull buying showed up is highly suspect as to it's origin.
Imagine a single company anouncing a large miss at 8.30, then at 9.45 the CEO resigns, and 2 minutes later the CFO resigns. I don't know about you, but my first reaction would not be an uncontrollable urge to buy.
My 2 cents CDN
