There was a suggestion on the thread that we can control immigration, that the mix of people from relatively more similar cultures, like western Europe, can be tweaked. All I can say is that if that were actually proposed as public policy, there wouldn't be enough firewood in Canada for the number of people who would want to burn the proponent at the stake.

I don't understand why you think that? If I understand it , we do that already with skewed numbers of immigrants from the far east. It's not public policy that I'm aware of. I'm suggesting that a more global representation is doable. Do you not feel that the Cdn public could appreciate and embrace the fact that a balance needs to be achieved in order to "not totally disrupt" the social and economic fabric and viability of the country.

All in all, reading your post, you are agreeing that the problem is insurmountable?
