Gussie, when are you going to stop being such a store-front lawyer?

In Ampex vs Mitsubishi (1997), Ampex won the jury decision, including a jury award of $8M, but the judge overturned the jury decision and ordered a new trial. Ampex and Mitsubishi settled 2 related cases for a nominal amount before going to trial again.

Not exactly what happened, Gussie. Definitely not what happened.

The Court of Appeals decision for the Federal Circuit contains some valuable hints--it is not a particularly detailed decision--on the issues on which you expound so brilliantly. You might want to check it out. Hell, you should have checked it out before exposing your ignorance. Again.

Hint: it reverses the trial court's determination that the jury verdict was not sustainable.

P.S.: Not obscure at all. Just got to know where to go.

P.P.S.: Do yourself a favor, stay away from the legal stuff.
