In other words OSB should, along with his organization, be hunted down relentlessly and brought to justice.

This leads to the following question: Why is all the focus on Saddam and not on OSB? Perhaps because strategists think that 20-30 years down the line the locals in the ME will want to control their resources and will try to take them from the corrupt regimes in the area.

I am personally still of the opinion OBL is likely dead. I know about the audiotape the govt said was likely genuine. However, I think they were just being "safe" in that analysis. The organization is bigger than one man, though and the pressure will stay on AQ.

As to Saddam, it is believed that in a year or two (no one knows precisely when) he will have developed nuclear weapons. At that time, we will again be facing off against him over the domination of the Persian Gulf. Better for us if we have the final confrontation with him now rather than then. The relevance between 9/11 and Saddam is that 9/11 taught that we should not wait for developing problems to get really terrible before we take them on. Al Qaida blew up two of our embassies, one of our ships, killed some of our people in SA and Somalia - before we got serious about takking them down. It took a planes hitting our Pentagon and taking down the WTC before we started seriously fighting them. When it comes to Saddam, one can look down the road and see we will be in conflict with him again. Given that, let's take care of him now not later when he has nukes.
