Bush's pick falls flat with investors

Treasury choice John Snow isn't the heavyweight some investors had hoped for.

Indeed, Wall Streeters and political commentators had speculated Bush would pick somebody already well known and trusted in the market. Some of the names being tossed around were outgoing Senator Phil Gramm, Treasury Undersecretary for International Affairs John Taylor, and Charles Schwab.

In many ways the new Treasury chief looks a lot like the old chief, except Snow's company didn't perform as well as O'Neill's.
