I did not see anything I strongly objected to in that post and that is why I did not reply to it, although the angle from which you are looking at certain issues are not mine.
On the other hand, I feel you are quite unnecessarily belittling that article as "not excessively anti-American, and yet, it is fully ‘politically correct’".
I would be interested to read your new book, as well as its predecessors. I am not sure that your attitude as seen in the statement "the “evenhanded” in Europe, ME and elsewhere would ignore, while they chatter themselves into an intellectual frenzy, blind to realities" is a good one. I do not know who you have been associating with in Europe, but the people I know here are far from "blind to realities", a term, if at all appropriate for any group of people, more so with most Americans whose world starts and ends on American borders.
Without smart people… what would the world do for entertainment?
If I understand correctly, you are again belittling the author of that article (and other Europeans) for providing amusement. Please do not. It does not help your argument at all.
If those giants started a fight, Europe was going to suffer… in practical terms, there was little difference to be seen between the two [US and Soviets].
That is simply not true. West of the Iron Curtain, Europe was far closer to the US.
Now, when Russia is on its way to become a friend of the US, the “Continent” complains even louder – that at least the Communists used to “check” the power of the US.
And? How is that wrong? It is called "from the frying pan into the fire", I believe...
No need to worry: With some more advice from our WISER friends, some day we may yet discover a way to… please everyone.
I am sorry but my understanding of English is not perfect. I am not so good with riddles. Could you say in plain English what you mean by this? |
