When I was in the Yukon this summer, I used CompuServe (you use an 800 Canadian number - same way with AOL up there). Mind you, it IS a Canadian 800 #, the AOL, Compuserve USA 800# will not work (travel down to Skagway or Haines and you have to switch to the USA 800 #). It is expensive.
You might be in luck if you're only going as far north as Whistler using MSN.
BTW, with most of the portel ISP's (AOL, C/S, and the rest) you can just use them for the connection. Once you connect, minimize their portal page and then bring up NetScape or IE and you won't have to deal with pop-ups.
