The issue is not Turkey's thinly veiled and appeasing stance on terrorism. It is their desperation to join the Club EU.

Since when did the issue get there? Since you gave the four-year-old article from an Arab source that said so?

Robert Barry was suggesting no Muslim country condemned the terrorist attacks. I proved him wrong by pointing out that Turkey, a Muslim country, condemned both the attacks in America AND those in Israel:

Then you claimed "Turkey is not sincere", a judgement I find hilarious coming from a guy who knows so little about the country that he did not realize the article he sent, talking about "Prime Minister Mesut Yilmaz" was four-years old.

If you have proof that Turkey is "not sincere", please don't be shy. Share it with us.

Nobody here is contesting the fact that Turkey wants to join the EU. They have been applying hopelessly for decades. However, that is by no means grounds to declare them "not sincere" in condolences to terror victims AND condemnation of terror attacks.

Turkey has long-term relations with Israel - economic & geopolitical treaties. There is a Jewish minority happily living along with Turks, who have fled the genocide in Europe. Is all that also "sucking up to Europe"? Does Turkey have normal relations with Israel AND a happy Jewish minority who does not seem in a hurry to go anywhere just because they are "sucking up to Europe?"

I was pointing out the desperation of their need to invade the west through any means possible.

You are clueless. The only invasion Turks are interested in would be abolition of the visa requirement so they can leave their poor villages and go work in Europe's factories. That is why there is a serious Turkish minority in Germany, for your information.

I will never support Turkey's bid for a date with Club EU.

You were told your opinion would be asked? That must have been a cruel joke.

I do not think they should be admitted in their current economic & political status, but that has never been the issue, anyway. The economic & prerequisites are clearly determined, and Turkey does not meet them for now.

Of course I am not the only one who can see that. This is why Turkey has not demanded a date for adhesion into the EU, but a date on which the talks would start IF they have, by then, attained the prerequisites.

Nothing has really changed in 4 years

How many times have you been in Turkey over the last four years to say that? Are you aware of the reforms they have implemented in this time? Or are you just talking crap from four-year-old Arab sources?
