Have you ever seen an NYT link go dead? My experience is that once you have the url, it's more or less permanent. They could pull the plug any time, of course. It used to be easy to do a search at the NYT site and get enough info out of the summary to search google for a free link, but google seems to purge direct NYT links these days, pity.

A moderately interesting link : wisdomportal.com . Unfortunately, that guy seems to have stopped there going forward, and goes backward in an increasingly spotty fashion only into 1998, except for a few random historical things. The oldest non-book link I found there: nytimes.com
