As an SI stock discussion participant I never knew Tim Luke much at all, except for a sometime now and then back and forth chipshot (either way) on some matter within the various forums or relative to whatever was controversial at the time. But I've never sensed anything of a severity-like level with him, beyond I guess what can be called a simple realm of opinion.
As to the ultimacy of his last act? Who knows?
Was someone outside in a vehicle forcing him to do what he did? Did he do what he did because he saw a solution to a bigger problem? Did he wish to die or get caught and get help? Did he do what he did because he'd done things like that before? Was he or a relative threatened to cause him to do what he did? Probably more questions than can be asked.
Will authorities continue to investigate what happened and why? Will someone else wish or want to know why?
So, so many questions and little to know about why and how.
I guess there's only one question that counts: Could what happened have been prevented from happening? Secondary questions, relative to us, I guess is something we each should ask: Did an SI ego play a role, directly or indirectly, to what he did? Should any of us be concerned about this?
Bottom line? Death, for anyone, no matter how or why the grim reaper appears, is not easy. And it's very real. More and more we who post here, if not now, will learn this and as time grows, the market up or down. |
