Internap Network Services Extends Footprint to 14 Countries; Connecting Mexico, Central America, South America, the Caribbean
Internap Forms Strategic Partnership with New World Network to Bring
High-Performance Internet Connectivity to Emerging Markets
ATLANTA, Dec. 12 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Internap Network Services Corporation (Nasdaq:INAP), the leading provider of intelligent routing services over the Internet, and New World Network, Ltd., principal owner of the Americas Region Caribbean Optical-ring System (ARCOS), the leading regional cable system in the Americas, today announced a strategic partnership to bring Internap's extensive portfolio of Internet-based services to the 14 countries located along the ARCOS network. New World Network has also purchased high-speed, OC3 data connections through Internap's Atlanta and Miami facilities, connecting ARCOS to the U.S.
According to the Yankee Group, the demand for communications capacity in Latin America and between Latin America and the United States will grow through 2006 at an annual compounded rate of about 68 percent. Industry research firm eMarketer also reports that Internet usage in the Caribbean is surging at 123 percent annually.

ARCOS connects the U.S., Bahamas, Turks & Caicos, Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, Curacao, Venezuela, Colombia, Panama, Costa Rica, Nicaragua, Honduras, Guatemala, Belize, and Mexico. Under terms of the agreement announced today, Internap has been awarded sole provider status for optimized IP connectivity to countries participating in the ARCOS network. Internap products -- including managed storage, VPN and colocation services -- will be made available for resale to all telecommunications providers in the region. Internap and New World Network will also work together to provide seamless network operations center (NOC) support for all joint products and services; and will explore new products and services that can be offered to each company's respective customer base.
