the problem i have w/physical gold is where do you keep it? GSA was saying recently that there is talk of an exchange-traded bullion security coming to market. that would be interesting.

one question i have is how one's gold allocation should be changed depending on whether one owns miners or physical. i could see owning a lot more bullion than i would miners--say, 30% of portfolio. conversely, it seems one gets more bang for the buck from the miners. the question is how to quantify this.

i had settled on a 5% miners allocation for some time, but i upped it to 10-11% a few weeks ago after (yet another) bullish piece on NEM in Grant's. NEM is by far my largest position, but i also own some Tocqueville as well as the stocks recommended by GSA.
