John -- what i see in your chart is a series of higher highs in bear assets; just what one would expect in a secular bear decline. since we haven't even gotten to the last peak, let alone above it, i'm not sure that your chart is calling for an imminent rally. in fact, when bear fund assets spiked back to their February highs in May and June, that was NOT a time to go long; those bears were right.

at the risk of repeating myself, i'll say it again; the consensus is CORRECT. by definition, of course.
