Not holding any gold myself - unfortunately looking at today's prices.

I can see why it makes sense to buy gold, but it's just not something I have ever dealt with or thought much about.

In fact, right now I am holding longs. I am long term bearish though, and my long term shorts pretty much exactly cancel out the current longs.Basically I am a bear that is having a rare hedged moment.

My "hard goods" consist mainly of some cheap coastal properties I have bought in Greece, where the weather is warmer and the land is a lot cheaper than here in the UK. At home we have unsustainably high - IMO - house prices, and my home is up for sale at more than double what I bought it for in '99. When that sells, I will look for more property in Southern Europe, and there I will sit until it's time to buy in the UK again.
