Took me several years to recover some credibility on computing issues.

Ouch! My sympathies are with you.

For me personally, it was his convincing presentation of the coming ubiquity of computing that heightened my already keen excitement about, what I sensed to be, the building tidal wave of the microcomputer revolution.
