Top 15 Financial Institution Augments Bill Payment Services with CheckFree Payment Processing Capabilities

ATLANTA, Dec. 12 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- CheckFree Corporation (Nasdaq: CKFR - News), the leading provider of financial electronic commerce services and products, today announced that Fifth Third Bancorp (Nasdaq: FITB - News) is offering CheckFree's online bill payment services to its retail banking customers. Under the agreement, Fifth Third will further augment its existing bill payment service with CheckFree's payment processing capabilities. According to second quarter rankings published on December 10, 2002, by American Banker, Fifth Third is the twelfth largest bank holding company in the United States by total deposits.
