GEMS reported EPS of $0.24 on $110 M in revenue, in line with expectations.
The specific revenue segments varied from expectations with some being
above and some being below estimates. The variations provide support to both the bulls and the bears who will choose to read what they want by over analyzing the details. In our view, the major thesis remains intact, the foreign market is growing like mad thus, diminishing the importance of the US market, which is rapidly becoming a smaller portion of GEMS' revenue. We are maintaining our estimates of $0.96 this year and $1.15 next. We would be a strong buyer at the low valuation of 15 - 16x 1998
