During the big oil run a few years back there were times that I was 100% one position and through most of the run I was on margin. I also used options.

I can count on both hands the number of days I've been on margin this last year and I haven't gone more than 50% in any one position. The only time I use options anymore is to consider writing covered calls or selling naked puts. Still crazy by most traditional standards, but lightyears from where I used to be.
