It is certainly something to aim at. I do not enjoy those Leno bits where he asks people simple questions of geography, history, or civics and they answer absurdly.(I rarely watch). Do you know that only about a quarter of respondents to polls about Nicaragua knew where it was, even though they would express an opinion on whether there were national security implications? And practically none of them knew that Carter originally supported the Sandanistas, even giving them foreign aid money, until they turned out to prefer their relationship with the Soviet Union and Cuba.......
