You are correct, there may be some greater harm than being out of circulation. But most women make it an issue of not being able to have a baby at that time, not one of incidental harm due to the pregnancy itself. I am sorry that I was not focusing on all possible issues, but there it is: society is not requiring you to keep the baby, merely to bring it to term. And if there is a substantial health risk, many would be willing to carve out another exception.

Unless you know of studies that suggest that those brought up in institutional and foster care are prone (50% or more) to attempt suicide, I will assume that it is good to be alive and raised in such circumstances.......
