Didn't we prove our bona fides by simultaneously kicking the asses of the Germans and the Japanese in WWII? Admittedly with the help of the Brits, the Aussies, the Canadians, and the Russkis, but how is that any different from now?

Edit: We've got the Israelis now, but that's a plus, right?
