That was a good example of junk statistics.

Why didn't he present the t-scores? How do I know that he used the right t-tests?

More importantly, why should independence be assumed? Independence between years in market or sports team performance is contrary to observable reality and known relationships in all but a handful of special cases.

Most importantly, why did he use such a simplistic approach? His approach could be used to demonstrate many spurious relationships.
