Come on, the Blacks were like pets in the south, some people were cruel to them and others not. I guess you never read Harper Lee's To Kill A Mockingbird. Are you saying that Lee's depiction of the Black person's plight in the South was innaccurate. Did Black's get fair jury trials in the south. lol. How many Blacks were lynched in the south compared with the North? ..."was part of the family" Right but if her son took a shine to your sister, he'd be castrated or hung.
