My point is that both the wilder stories about the PPT are not necessary and the skeptics are too skeptical. It makes an outright crash like 1987 less likely I guess. Maybe the main aim is to give time for banks like JPM to unwind bad positions etc.... and not crash the banking system.... if so that is a moral hazard problem like bailing out countries that default... I don't think in the long-run they think they will keep the markets up for the benefit of J6P.
