Ever since this started the constant refrain has been this is NOT like Japan;no,no,no, this is nothing like Japan:)
As of last year all of 8% of the japanese people were invested in Japanese equities, strange twist,as the public is now out but the BOJ and Government are holding the bag.
But in Japan it finally evolved into a not very nice cartoon show. For 12 years now they have been fighting the aftermath of their bubble,(Bill Fleckenstein who was in Japan during their bubble and initial collapse insists their bubble was small compared to our bubble.)
Greenspan and Rubin believed that they had it figured out, let the bubble happen, Japan will not happen here because we are smart guys, we know exactly how to solve a post bubble.
Well so far so bad. Max
