Brandon took me to a truck stop to eat last night. I know restaurants are few and far between in our area, but a truck stop? I must admit, I did mock his choice. I wondered, out loud, if we would be dining at Der Wienerschnitzle next week with our friends, or Chez Mac. Oddly enough it was not your average truck stop. The folks that run it are more than a little quirky. They do cater to the big rigs out front, but they converted a former nursery (used to be a nursery plus truck stop) into a restaurant- and they sent their son to Chef's school. I had the most fabulous lime/orange chipotle chicken, that was barbecued just perfectly. Awesome meal. My friend (who had also been mocking HER husband for taking her to a truck stop) had a really good tiger shrimp quesadilla. The tortilla soup was a scorcher, but it was really good. I can't wait to go back and try more of their food. I had a really hard time choosing. I want to try the chicken mole next time, I think. And the chipotle chicken creme looked good. In fact, I'm getting a little hungry now......
