NewKidCo and Jack of All Games Announce the Release of ``Dora the Explorer: The Search for Pirate Pig's Treasure'' for Game Boy Advance

Friday December 13, 5:19 pm ET

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 13, 2002--NewKidCo announced that "Dora the Explorer(TM): The Search for Pirate Pig's Treasure" for Game Boy® Advance has been released and is shipping to retailers. This title is distributed exclusively through Jack of All Games, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Take-Two Interactive Software, Inc. The game is based on the popular Nick Jr. show, "Dora the Explorer."

"Since its premiere, `Dora the Explorer(TM)' has been the highest rated preschool program on all of commercial television," said Paul Samulski, CCO/EVP of NewKidCo. "Now kids can play with Dora and all of her friends on Nintendo's Game Boy Advance."

"In `The Search for Pirate Pig's Treasure,' preschoolers can join the adventure with Dora in a whole new way," said Stephen Youngwood, Vice President Nickelodeon Media Products Group. "We are excited to partner with NewKidCo to bring Dora to Game Boy Advance," he said.

The story starts with Dora and her best friend Boots agreeing to help Pirate Pig locate his missing treasure chest. On their adventure, they travel through many exciting places such as the Spooky Forest, Blueberry Hill and Strawberry Mountain. With the help of Backpack and Map, Dora and Boots have to prevent Swiper the Fox from swiping all of the pick-ups along the way. If they are successful, they will enjoy the chocolate cupcakes with pink frosting, gold coins, stickers and shiny jewels that are waiting for them in Pirate Pig's treasure chest.

"Dora the Explorer: The Search for Pirate Pig's Treasure" GBA was developed by CineGroupe and is an E (Everyone) Rated game. It has an SRP of $29.99.

About "Dora the Explorer":

"Dora the Explorer" is a play along, animated adventure series starring a seven-year-old Latino heroine who lives inside a computer. Dora is proudly bilingual and uses her knowledge of English and Spanish to communicate with her friends, overcome obstacles and reach her goal. In each episode, Dora teaches a Spanish word or phrase to the viewers and then asks them to use it to solve a problem and forge ahead. Ultimately, Dora and her best friend, a monkey named Boots, triumph and the story always ends with a "WE DID IT!" anthem.

Dora explores her world just as preschoolers do everyday. The show is designed to actively engage its young audience in an interactive, CD-ROM style quest using a variety of learning techniques. In every episode, Dora and Boots invite the audience to participate in an exciting adventure. Each step of their journey consists of a problem or puzzle in which Dora and the audience must think their way through in order to solve. Throughout the journey, Dora obtains help by checking for items in her Backpack and getting directions from the Map, while the audience warns her when they see Swiper the Fox.
