having had a police officer point a gun at me once..
Yes, I know the feeling very well... once, as kids, (around 16 - 17 or so) we were fooling around nearby one of Latin America's president's home. One of the soldiers guarding it told us to get lost and so we talked back and told HIM to get lost, without hesitation this ape, cut cartridge and aim his rifle at us (*This is a literal translation from Spanish, I am not sure it means the same thing*) --point is he aimed the gun and told us to lie down on the floor...
Luckily for us, his superior was nearby and pulled the leashed on the monkey and let us go without trouble... Big difference even from a police officer or soldier in the US because they certainly have education. Many of the Latin Americas soldiers are totally without education (I am talking not even grade school), and they are worse than robotons as they will obey orders from the army without even blinking, regardless if in this case, the "threat" was some crazy teenagers from the neighborhood; "excessive use of force" does not come into play at all...
Not until later did we all realize how close we were for "curtains" -g
my attitude when confronted today...
"let the wookie win"
Without question, you are right... just sometimes it is too annoying to put up with these zealots of authority, I mean a speeding ticket (and not even over 80 mph on a 65 zone)... PLEAAASSSEEEEEEE it is not as if I am robbing a bank or something remotely close to a real crime, yet the chimpanzees start moaning from excitement.... -g |
