Yes... particularly those old bats that drive at 65 (or 75, whatever applies) ON THE FRIGGING LEFT LANE and they won't move over... Then, you gently flash one's lights to announce... Helloooooo I am going faster than you... please move over...

No... they take it as an insult and then start driving slower... That I will never understand... at times, it seems that American [slow] drivers seem to think that being passed is equivalent to... being castrated (if male), or lose their virginity (if females) -ggg

I love Italian style driving (or German for that matter), NO speed limits on the Autostrada`(*) or Autobahn... the added feature of Italian driving.... They throw away their rear view mirror (lol --just kidding)

I found this little comment on a website about the Autostrada that made me laugh...

Speed Limits

On the Autostrada and other roads, the speed limit is a bit of a mystery. Zak thinks it's 130 km per hour on the left lane of the Autostrada. This may depend on the make and condition of your car. But it's always best to go with the flow. Pauline has been told by an Italian that there are no speed limits in Italy, but if there are, they are for foreigners
lolololololololol....

(*) The technical speed limit in the Autostrada is 130 kph (about 81.5 mph)... but no one follows it... the true fact is... left lane is for passing only, Italians will not pass you on the right (well, at least in the Autostrada) and if you are blocking the left lane at 100 mph (-g), they will flash you and ride on your arse until you move... and yes, the carabinieri will take into consideration what kind of car you are driving and its condition before they would issue a blanket "speeding ticket"... if you are driving a Ferrari at less than 200 kph (about 130 mph) they will probably give you a ticket for being a dumbass... lol (just kidding)
