Years ago Tim sent me a message he wanted to talk on the phone. So I called and we chatted a bit. He had a theory that if a few people with thread followings started hyping a stock, it would run up and we could all bail profitably. I explained to him that this was illegal, and immoral. Over the years, we corresponded about a few events. I had forgiven him for asking, and he held no resentment for turning him down.

Hee wasn't the only person to think of that, and certainly won't be the last. Like all people, he had his strengths and his weaknesses, his gifts and his failings. Silicon Investor has seen the ranges of compassion and genius and manipulation and greed that exists offline.

So one of us has passed. For whatever reasons he fell to that end, we should mourn his passing. And be thankful for what we are able to make of our own misfortunes.
