dc,
I'm not a long term DELL investor. I've shorted it successfully a few times (as I've believed its been overpriced for awhile), though right now I'm about dead even on DELL. The recent manic run-up has convinced me that the end of DELL's run is at hand. I gained much from the falls of NSCP, CSCC, and IOMG. DELL seems like another golden opportunity. But timing is everything, hence the thread and its call for a top date and price.
Mikey is mandated to inform the shareholder of relevant news. He has already stated the obvious... business is great, but one shouldn't expect a company the size of DELL's to keep up the current rate of growth.
Dell has doubled its profits in the last year. DELL stock hasn't doubled. It has gone up almost 8 times! Thus a high P/E. This would be OK if the rate of earning growth were increasing. Yet Mikey and many others have suggested the rate of earnings growth will decrease. On top of this manic buying, short covering, momentum playing, whatever you wish to call it has created an upwards trajectory that almost always leads to a collapse. Again timing is everything and at this point there is more to gain going down than up IMHO.
As for the product announcement. It is already been reported that they announce their entry into the workstation market.
Good luck

RJ, ready to buy puts tomorrow.
