The idea, floated in the WSJ - points out that the richest 1% pay 26% of US income tax. Apparently ignores the fact that they also have 19% of its income

Meaning they pay more then there share of income tax as 26% > 19%

and pay proportionately less in other taxes...

True but they aren't undertaxed overall.

Edit: even the Washington Post doesn't think this is a good idea.

"Even the Washington Post", you act like the Post is some bastion of conservative or libertarian thought.
