Pray tell about his ski vacations to Switzerland, culture trips to Italy and Greece among the ruins, and the museums he tooks the kids to in Paris? I am not even going into Africa, Japan, etc.
The reason I said "apparently" is because I heard Bush had not been out of the US except to Mexico but was not sure.
Bush's foreign travels have been limited to three visits to Mexico, two trips to Israel, a three-day Thanksgiving visit in Rome with one of his daughters in 1998 and a six-week excursion to China with his parents in 1975 when his father was the U.S. envoy to Beijing.

OK, so it was three visits to Mexico. One to China with parents, once to Rome (for Thanksgiving), and twice to Israel. If I were a conspiracy theorist, I would have to comment on the two trips to Israel in a life otherwise pretty much devoid of travels into foreign lands <g>
Sorry if it is still not impressive. In fact, the link above (quoting Associated Press) also says:

Anyway, Bush is an example that even in one of the richer, more affluent families of the US, there is (was, rather) little interest about the rest of the world. |
