The left wing white racists TAKE for GRANTED that blacks are incapable of thinking about whom to vote for.
Slaveowners denied blacks the right to vote - period.
They TAKE for GRANTED that no black can achieve success without rigging the game through reverse discrimination.
Slaveowners took for granted that no black could achieve success - period. And their leaders even said that their natural lot on the earth was to be in subjection to whites. That is far more oppressive and shows far more contempt for blacks than any liberal that I have known or read. I am no fan of liberals, as the folks here can tell you. But the fact is, very many liberals are well-meaning and wish to see an America wherein blacks are free and equal. They are just wrong about how to go about it. Slaveowners by no means had such wishes for blacks. To them, blacks were unfit even for American citizenship. There is just no comparison between them and liberals.
They TAKE it for GRANTED that blacks can be exploited to fabricate votes for Marxist/Leninist white candidates.
This is quite true, and you DEFINEY preechin' to de kwa heah. But liberals at least form voluntary coalitions with the blacks to give them a teensy-weensy crumb of what they wish. Slaveowners did nothing of the sort. They completely owned even the souls of blacks - forcing the blacks to do their bidding by the lash or by even harsher means. There just is no comparison here. None at all, and I marvel that we even have to have this discussion about it.
Truly, the white slave holders denied the blacks their human rights-BUT THEY WERE INCAPABLE of the depths of out-of-hand contempt that the contemporary Marxist/Leninist anti-American left expresses toward blacks as a group.
The whites slaveholders denied blacks more than merely their human rights. They denied blacks their humanity - period. Liberals just do not do this sort of thing. Blacks can get up and leave the liberal plantation when they become of a mind to do it. Slaves could just not do this because slaveowners even denied their humanity - reducing them to nothing but property similar to cows, horses and donkeys. Sorry pal. There is just no comparison here - none at all.
Thus the left may just happen to treat the blacks like cattle INCIDENTALLY. I fail to see why that's an improvement over the slave holders-who held them physically captive.
Because the blacks under liberal hegemony have the right to leave whenever they wish, and they know they have this right. Under liberalism, blacks yet know they are men. They had no such fundamental freedom under their slaveowners. The difference is a great as the space between east and west.
With physical captivity, there is always hope for escape, or the downfall of the system (which eventually occurred).
Dear me. This is really quite false. Slavery was not even chiefly about physical captivity. It was a vast system of psychological oppression wherein generations of blacks were born in captivity, never having known what freedom really was. They of course yet could imagine freedom because they were ever surrounded by it in whites. But to think themselves free to reach out and just take freedom as a matter of course just did not exist, friend. That sort of freedom certainly DOES exist in blacks under liberalism. No comparison here.
What do you do about white liberals who you KNOW are convinced-in their heart and soul-that you are INTELLECTUAL DIRT, and you KNOW that they will NEVER be made to change their minds? That is the ESSENCE of oppression.
In such circumstances blacks make adjustments, either forcing the liberals to adjust or leaving the liberals. Many many blacks have done this and are doing it by their own choice. But what did blacks do about slaveowners who they KNEW were convinced-in-their heart and soul that blacks were just glorified monkeys and that they KNEW that they would NEVER be made to change their minds? That was the ESSENCE of utter oppression and it was the reality of blacks for centuries on end in America. Indeed we are yet sufferring the legacy of this remarkably devastating history.
Modern conservatism offers only to treat blacks as equals, allowing them to compete freely in a COLOR BLIND society.
It is a hollow offer to millions of blacks because it yet rests upon a history of racial oppression and fear. Vast numbers of blacks don't even believe whites can ever be fair toward them - and they have a long history to support their view. This history won't just evaporate.
The older blacks are afraid to leave the security of the liberal plantation and take responsibility for their own destiny. The liberals understand that fear and profit politically from it.
Agreed. But I certainly understand why the older blacks think in this way. It is no dang coincidence. These folks have felt what its like to be 60 years old and yet having to call a 15 year old white kid "suh" and "boss." They remember what it was like to be called "animal", "monkey" and all sorts of utterly atrocious and deeply wounding insults from whites. I have accounts, very many of them, from blacks alive today of what it was like to go to school amidst large crowds of angry confederate flag waving whites who called them the most vicious things. These older blacks don't trust that a white society that could be so openly cruel can now, a relative few years later, be so accommodating and welcoming. They do not trust America, and dangit, I can't blame them.
Younger blacks have the GUTS to look at the world that COULD be. And they see the WHITE LIBERAL standing in their way.
And this is good. But I think we conservatives need to realize that this is a very recent phenomenon. And we should have the guts to keep the dang pathways open so that these young blacks are not proven wrong. The minute a Trent Lott calls them a "nigger" or mistreats them in ANY way, hordes of cynical, older blacks are gonna come down on these more hopeful blacks. And it is gonna be awful hard for the younger blacks to survive in so fledgling a state. We can help by crushing the barbarians in our midst and allowing the young hopefuls to remain free enough to stake their own claims. And DAMN! What would that cost us? Not a dang thing, except a little of our own barbarism. |
