I drove 800 miles one way to shoot a Christmas goose in what's your back yard. I did pig out on the oysters also. I helped a guy who raised barnyard ducks. They got slaughtered at 6 weeks because after that they only put on fat. Even at 6 weeks they'd drip a pint of grease when cooked. Did them on a spit with a pan under them. Now I did shoot some "tame" geese that weren't fat. It was a subdivision that didn't work around a lake and they had let domestic geese loose. The geese did fine and could even fly and did about $100 crop damage a day. Penned up they would have been really fatty. <<On the other hand, the Potomac is one of the most beautiful rivers in the world.......>> I hear where it's coming back. Getting full of smallmouth bass. Can't eat them yet but at least they can live there.
