There was no figure given to make anything wrong either. Folks just did their dirty deeds over centuries, corrupting their own children and the children of blacks generation after generation. We can't escape this kinda mess just by throwing out some danged dollar figure. You apparently think too much of money. The best we can do is work pointedly to establish a society wherein the sins of the past are fully acknowledged and where in response we work with those who have been harmed to give them the needed trust in their country so they can struggle for happiness like the rest of us. But dang. Yall don't even be willing to admit the dang past. You just say stuff like "I know slavery was bad, but..." Well there ain't no dang but. Slavery took every dang thing from these folks. Every dang thing. Immigrants come to America bringing with them SHARED culture that sustains them through the hardest of times. Blacks didn't have even that. And they are still a broken group of people for it. Yes, they have a responsibility to themselves and to us to get up. But we have a responsibility to them and to us to help them up without coddling them.
